Yoder's Prairie Acres

I and my wife grew up in an amish community in North East Iowa so we have had lots of hands on experience with livestock, as we farmed with Horses,miked Dairy Cows by hand and raised Holstein Steers and Hogs in our feed lot.

The most important event that took place in my life was in the fall of 1986 when I came to know "Gods Son The Lord Jesus Christ" as my Personal Savior,which then led to our move to Ohio in January of 1988. The first 2 years we worked on a Dairy Farm where we milked 125 Cows along with young stock and help farm around 400 acres of crop land.We then rented a 100 acre farm close to Berlin Ohio where I became a Barn Builder working for Millers Storage Barns along with farming and boarding cattle.

In 1996 we bought the 40 acres where we are now and rented our pasture out to a Dairy Farmer and started boarding horses along with a few of our own Quarter Horses. In 2004 we started raising Minature Horses and that is went we started in beef cattle with 8 head of Reg. Angus calves that were just weaned and have grown from there.



In January 2009 we were first introduced to the Gelbvieh Breed. My son-in-law and I went to the Judd Ranch Sale March 5th 2009 that is where we decided we would like to start raising Gelbvieh Cattle along with our Reg. Angus. So in late March we bought our first Gelbvieh Heifer's from the Sutton Farm and in Nov. we bought Tootsie and Shayla both bred to JBOB Carolina Fortune 2564JET from the Sheeleys.
 

We are just a small operation where we raise Seedstock, so we have 2 Purebred Gelbvieh bulls and 1 Balancer bull for sale at this time, also have 2 yearling Balancer heifers and a few bred females that we would sell.
